Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2026-45186
DESCRIPTION: In libexpat before 2.8.1, the computational complexity of attribute name collision checks allows a denial of service via moderately sized crafted XML input.
CWE: CWE-407: Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity
CVSS Source: NVD
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-3833
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. This vulnerability occurs because gnutls performs case-sensitive comparisons of `nameConstraints` labels, specifically for `dNSName` (DNS) or `rfc822Name` (email) constraints within `excludedSubtrees` or `permittedSubtrees`. A remote attacker can exploit this by crafting a leaf certificate with casing differences in the Subject Alternative Name (SAN), leading to a policy bypass where a certificate that should be rejected is instead accepted. This could result in unauthorized access or information disclosure.
CWE: CWE-178: Improper Handling of Case Sensitivity
CVSS Source: NVD
CVSS Base score: 7.4
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-5260
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in libgnutls. A remote attacker, by sending an extremely short premaster secret during an RSA key exchange to a server using an RSA key backed by a PKCS#11 token, could trigger a short heap overread. This memory corruption vulnerability could lead to information disclosure.
CWE: CWE-126: Buffer Over-read
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 8.2
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-33845
DESCRIPTION: A flaw in GnuTLS DTLS handshake parsing allows malformed fragments with zero length and non-zero offset, leading to an integer underflow during reassembly and resulting in an out-of-bounds read. This issue is remotely exploitable and may cause information disclosure or denial of service.
CWE: CWE-191: Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound)
CVSS Source: NVD
CVSS Base score: 9.1
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-33846
DESCRIPTION: A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the DTLS handshake fragment reassembly logic of GnuTLS. The issue arises in merge_handshake_packet() where incoming handshake fragments are matched and merged based solely on handshake type, without validating that the message_length field remains consistent across all fragments of the same logical message. An attacker can exploit this by sending crafted DTLS fragments with conflicting message_length values, causing the implementation to allocate a buffer based on a smaller initial fragment and subsequently write beyond its bounds using larger, inconsistent fragments. Because the merge operation does not enforce proper bounds checking against the allocated buffer size, this results in an out-of-bounds write on the heap. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable without authentication via the DTLS handshake path and can lead to application crashes or potential memory corruption.
CWE: CWE-130: Improper Handling of Length Parameter Inconsistency
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42009
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. A remote attacker could exploit an issue in the Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) packet reordering logic. The comparator function, responsible for ordering DTLS packets by sequence numbers, did not correctly handle packets with duplicate sequence numbers. This could lead to unstable packet ordering or undefined behavior, resulting in a denial of service.
CWE: CWE-475: Undefined Behavior for Input to API
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 7.5
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42010
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. Servers configured with RSA-PSK (Rivest–Shamir–Adleman – Pre-Shared Key) wrongfully matched usernames containing a NUL character with truncated usernames. A remote attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted username, leading to an authentication bypass. This vulnerability allows an attacker to gain unauthorized access by circumventing the authentication process.
CWE: CWE-170: Improper Null Termination
CVSS Source: NVD
CVSS Base score: 9.8
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42011
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. This vulnerability occurs because permitted name constraints were incorrectly ignored when previous Certificate Authorities (CAs) only had excluded name constraints. A remote attacker could exploit this to bypass critical name constraint checks during certificate validation. This bypass could lead to the acceptance of invalid certificates, potentially enabling spoofing or man-in-the-middle attacks against affected systems.
CWE: CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 7.4
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42012
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by presenting a specially crafted certificate that contains Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) or Service (SRV) Subject Alternative Names (SANs). This could cause the certificate validation process to incorrectly fall back to checking DNS hostnames against the Common Name (CN), potentially allowing the attacker to spoof legitimate services or intercept sensitive information.
CWE: CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 7.1
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42013
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. When validating certificates, an oversized Subject Alternative Name (SAN) could cause the validation process to incorrectly fall back to checking the Common Name (CN) field. This could allow a remote attacker to bypass proper certificate validation, potentially leading to spoofing or man-in-the-middle attacks.
CWE: CWE-295: Improper Certificate Validation
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 8.2
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-42015
DESCRIPTION: A flaw was found in gnutls. An off-by-one error exists in the PKCS#12 bag element bounds check. This vulnerability allows an remote attacker to write past the internal array of a PKCS#12 bag when appending to a bag that already contains 32 elements. This memory corruption could lead to a denial of service (DoS) or potentially other unspecified impacts.
CWE: CWE-193: Off-by-one Error
CVSS Source: secalert@redhat.com
CVSS Base score: 5.3
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L)
CVEID: CVE-2023-53781
DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smc: Fix use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler().
With Eric's ref tracker, syzbot finally found a repro for
use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler() by kernel TCP
sockets. [0]
If SMC creates a kernel socket in __smc_create(), the kernel
socket is supposed to be freed in smc_clcsock_release() by
calling sock_release() when we close() the parent SMC socket.
However, at the end of smc_clcsock_release(), the kernel
socket's sk_state might not be TCP_CLOSE. This means that
we have not called inet_csk_destroy_sock() in __tcp_close()
and have not stopped the TCP timers.
The kernel socket's TCP timers can be fired later, so we
need to hold a refcnt for net as we do for MPTCP subflows
in mptcp_subflow_create_socket().

CVEID: CVE-2025-21858
DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
geneve: Fix use-after-free in geneve_find_dev().
syzkaller reported a use-after-free in geneve_find_dev() [0]
without repro.
geneve_configure() links struct geneve_dev.next to
net_generic(net, geneve_net_id)-geneve_list.
The net here could differ from dev_net(dev) if IFLA_NET_NS_PID,
IFLA_NET_NS_FD, or IFLA_TARGET_NETNSID is set.
When dev_net(dev) is dismantled, geneve_exit_batch_rtnl() finally
calls unregister_netdevice_queue() for each dev in the netns,
and later the dev is freed.
However, its geneve_dev.next is still linked to the backend UDP
socket netns.
Then, use-after-free will occur when another geneve dev is created
in the netns.
Let's call geneve_dellink() instead in geneve_destroy_tunnels().

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nf_tables: release flowtable after rcu grace period on error
Call synchronize_rcu() after unregistering the hooks from error path,
since a hook that already refers to this flowtable can be already
registered, exposing this flowtable to packet path and nfnetlink_hook
control plane.
This error path is rare, it should only happen by reaching the maximum
number hooks or by failing to set up to hardware offload, just call
synchronize_rcu().
There is a check for already used device hooks by different flowtable
that could result in EEXIST at this late stage. The hook parser can be
updated to perform this check earlier to this error path really becomes
rarely exercised.
Uncovered by KASAN reported as use-after-free from nfnetlink_hook path
when dumping hooks.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: 6fire: fix use-after-free on disconnect
In usb6fire_chip_abort(), the chip struct is allocated as the card's
private data (via snd_card_new with sizeof(struct sfire_chip)). When
snd_card_free_when_closed() is called and no file handles are open, the
card and embedded chip are freed synchronously. The subsequent
chip-card = NULL write then hits freed slab memory.

hub_event+0x1a04/0x4518 drivers/usb/core/hub.c:5953
Fix by moving the card lifecycle out of usb6fire_chip_abort() and into
usb6fire_chip_disconnect(). The card pointer is saved in a local
before any teardown, snd_card_disconnect() is called first to prevent
new opens, URBs are aborted while chip is still valid, and
snd_card_free_when_closed() is called last so chip is never accessed
after the card may be freed.

CVEID: CVE-2026-31613
DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: fix OOB reads parsing symlink error response
When a CREATE returns STATUS_STOPPED_ON_SYMLINK, smb2_check_message()
returns success without any length validation, leaving the symlink
parsers as the only defense against an untrusted server.
symlink_data() walks SMB 3.1.1 error contexts with the loop test "p
end", but reads p-ErrorId at offset 4 and p-ErrorDataLength at offset
0. When the server-controlled ErrorDataLength advances p to within 1-7
bytes of end, the next iteration will read past it. When the matching
context is found, sym-SymLinkErrorTag is read at offset 4 from
p-ErrorContextData with no check that the symlink header itself fits.
smb2_parse_symlink_response() then bounds-checks the substitute name
using SMB2_SYMLINK_STRUCT_SIZE as the offset of PathBuffer from
iov_base. That value is computed as sizeof(smb2_err_rsp) +
sizeof(smb2_symlink_err_rsp), which is correct only when
ErrorContextCount == 0.
With at least one error context the symlink data sits 8 bytes deeper,
and each skipped non-matching context shifts it further by 8 +
ALIGN(ErrorDataLength, 8). The check is too short, allowing the
substitute name read to run past iov_len. The out-of-bound heap bytes
are UTF-16-decoded into the symlink target and returned to userspace via
readlink(2).
Fix this all up by making the loops test require the full context header
to fit, rejecting sym if its header runs past end, and bound the
substitute name against the actual position of sym-PathBuffer rather
than a fixed offset.
Because sub_offs and sub_len are 16bits, the pointer math will not
overflow here with the new greater-than.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ip6_tunnel: clear skb2-cb[] in ip4ip6_err()
Oskar Kjos reported the following problem.
ip4ip6_err() calls icmp_send() on a cloned skb whose cb[] was written
by the IPv6 receive path as struct inet6_skb_parm. icmp_send() passes
IPCB(skb2) to __ip_options_echo(), which interprets that cb[] region
as struct inet_skb_parm (IPv4). The layouts differ: inet6_skb_parm.nhoff
at offset 14 overlaps inet_skb_parm.opt.rr, producing a non-zero rr
value. __ip_options_echo() then reads optlen from attacker-controlled
packet data at sptr[rr+1] and copies that many bytes into dopt-__data,
a fixed 40-byte stack buffer (IP_OPTIONS_DATA_FIXED_SIZE).
To fix this we clear skb2-cb[], as suggested by Oskar Kjos.
Also add minimal IPv4 header validation (version == 4, ihl = 5).

In ip6_err_gen_icmpv6_unreach(), the skb is an outer IPv4 ICMP error packet
where its cb contains an IPv4 inet_skb_parm. When skb is cloned into skb2
and passed to icmp6_send(), it uses IP6CB(skb2).
IP6CB interprets the IPv4 inet_skb_parm as an inet6_skb_parm. The cipso
offset in inet_skb_parm.opt directly overlaps with dsthao in inet6_skb_parm
at offset 18.
If an attacker sends a forged ICMPv4 error with a CIPSO IP option, dsthao
would be a non-zero offset. Inside icmp6_send(), mip6_addr_swap() is called
and uses ipv6_find_tlv(skb, opt-dsthao, IPV6_TLV_HAO).
This would scan the inner, attacker-controlled IPv6 packet starting at that
offset, potentially returning a fake TLV without checking if the remaining
packet length can hold the full 18-byte struct ipv6_destopt_hao.
Could mip6_addr_swap() then perform a 16-byte swap that extends past the end
of the packet data into skb_shared_info?
Should the cb array also be cleared in ip6_err_gen_icmpv6_unreach() and
ip6ip6_err() to prevent this?
This patch implements the first suggestion.
I am not sure if ip6ip6_err() needs to be changed.
A separate patch would be better anyway.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/rxe: Fix double free in rxe_srq_from_init
In rxe_srq_from_init(), the queue pointer 'q' is assigned to
'srq-rq.queue' before copying the SRQ number to user space.
If copy_to_user() fails, the function calls rxe_queue_cleanup()
to free the queue, but leaves the now-invalid pointer in
'srq-rq.queue'.
The caller of rxe_srq_from_init() (rxe_create_srq) eventually
calls rxe_srq_cleanup() upon receiving the error, which triggers
a second rxe_queue_cleanup() on the same memory, leading to a
double free.
The call trace looks like this:

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ima: don't clear IMA_DIGSIG flag when setting or removing non-IMA xattr
Currently when both IMA and EVM are in fix mode, the IMA signature will
be reset to IMA hash if a program first stores IMA signature in
security.ima and then writes/removes some other security xattr for the
file.
For example, on Fedora, after booting the kernel with "ima_appraise=fix
evm=fix ima_policy=appraise_tcb" and installing rpm-plugin-ima,
installing/reinstalling a package will not make good reference IMA
signature generated. Instead IMA hash is generated,
# getfattr -m - -d -e hex /usr/bin/bash
# file: usr/bin/bash
security.ima=0x0404...
This happens because when setting security.selinux, the IMA_DIGSIG flag
that had been set early was cleared. As a result, IMA hash is generated
when the file is closed.
Similarly, IMA signature can be cleared on file close after removing
security xattr like security.evm or setting/removing ACL.
Prevent replacing the IMA file signature with a file hash, by preventing
the IMA_DIGSIG flag from being reset.
Here's a minimal C reproducer which sets security.selinux as the last
step which can also replaced by removing security.evm or setting ACL,
#include stdio.h
#include sys/xattr.h
#include fcntl.h

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/umad: Reject negative data_len in ib_umad_write
ib_umad_write computes data_len from user-controlled count and the
MAD header sizes. With a mismatched user MAD header size and RMPP
header length, data_len can become negative and reach ib_create_send_mad().
This can make the padding calculation exceed the segment size and trigger
an out-of-bounds memset in alloc_send_rmpp_list().
Add an explicit check to reject negative data_len before creating the
send buffer.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: Only allow act_ct to bind to clsact/ingress qdiscs and shared blocks
As Paolo said earlier [1]:
"Since the blamed commit below, classify can return TC_ACT_CONSUMED while
the current skb being held by the defragmentation engine. As reported by
GangMin Kim, if such packet is that may cause a UaF when the defrag engine
later on tries to tuch again such packet."
act_ct was never meant to be used in the egress path, however some users
are attaching it to egress today [2]. Attempting to reach a middle
ground, we noticed that, while most qdiscs are not handling
TC_ACT_CONSUMED, clsact/ingress qdiscs are. With that in mind, we
address the issue by only allowing act_ct to bind to clsact/ingress
qdiscs and shared blocks. That way it's still possible to attach act_ct to
egress (albeit only with clsact).

Bluetooth: SCO: Fix use-after-free in sco_recv_frame() due to missing sock_hold
sco_recv_frame() reads conn-sk under sco_conn_lock() but immediately

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: raw: fix ro-uniq use-after-free in raw_rcv()
raw_release() unregisters raw CAN receive filters via can_rx_unregister(),
but receiver deletion is deferred with call_rcu(). This leaves a window
where raw_rcv() may still be running in an RCU read-side critical section
after raw_release() frees ro-uniq, leading to a use-after-free of the
percpu uniq storage.
Move free_percpu(ro-uniq) out of raw_release() and into a raw-specific
socket destructor. can_rx_unregister() takes an extra reference to the
socket and only drops it from the RCU callback, so freeing uniq from
sk_destruct ensures the percpu area is not released until the relevant

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: sched: act_csum: validate nested VLAN headers
tcf_csum_act() walks nested VLAN headers directly from skb-data when an
skb still carries in-payload VLAN tags. The current code reads
vlan-h_vlan_encapsulated_proto and then pulls VLAN_HLEN bytes without
first ensuring that the full VLAN header is present in the linear area.
If only part of an inner VLAN header is linearized, accessing
h_vlan_encapsulated_proto reads past the linear area, and the following
skb_pull(VLAN_HLEN) may violate skb invariants.
Fix this by requiring pskb_may_pull(skb, VLAN_HLEN) before accessing and
pulling each nested VLAN header. If the header still is not fully
available, drop the packet through the existing error path.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: ip6t_eui64: reject invalid MAC header for all packets
`eui64_mt6()` derives a modified EUI-64 from the Ethernet source address

The existing guard only rejects an invalid MAC header when

with an invalid MAC header are rejected before accessing `eth_hdr(skb)`.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: validate the whole DACL before rewriting it in cifsacl
build_sec_desc() and id_mode_to_cifs_acl() derive a DACL pointer from a
server-supplied dacloffset and then use the incoming ACL to rebuild the
chmod/chown security descriptor.
The original fix only checked that the struct smb_acl header fits before
reading dacl_ptr-size or dacl_ptr-num_aces. That avoids the immediate
header-field OOB read, but the rewrite helpers still walk ACEs based on
pdacl-num_aces with no structural validation of the incoming DACL body.
A malicious server can return a truncated DACL that still contains a
header, claims one or more ACEs, and then drive
replace_sids_and_copy_aces() or set_chmod_dacl() past the validated
extent while they compare or copy attacker-controlled ACEs.
Factor the DACL structural checks into validate_dacl(), extend them to
validate each ACE against the DACL bounds, and use the shared validator
before the chmod/chown rebuild paths. parse_dacl() reuses the same
validator so the read-side parser and write-side rewrite paths agree on
what constitutes a well-formed incoming DACL.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

nf_conntrack_helper_unregister() calls nf_ct_expect_iterate_destroy()

However, it passes NULL instead of the helper pointer as the data

After unregister returns, nfnl_cthelper_del() frees the helper

causing a use-after-free.
Pass the actual helper pointer so expectations referencing it are

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: wacom: fix out-of-bounds read in wacom_intuos_bt_irq
The wacom_intuos_bt_irq() function processes Bluetooth HID reports
without sufficient bounds checking. A maliciously crafted short report
can trigger an out-of-bounds read when copying data into the wacom
structure.
Specifically, report 0x03 requires at least 22 bytes to safely read
the processed data and battery status, while report 0x04 (which
falls through to 0x03) requires 32 bytes.
Add explicit length checks for these report IDs and log a warning if
a short report is received.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: fix freemap adjustments when adding xattrs to leaf blocks
xfs/592 and xfs/794 both trip this assertion in the leaf block freemap
adjustment code after ~20 minutes of running on my test VMs:
ASSERT(ichdr-firstused = ichdr-count * sizeof(xfs_attr_leaf_entry_t)
+ xfs_attr3_leaf_hdr_size(leaf));
Upon enabling quite a lot more debugging code, I narrowed this down to
fsstress trying to set a local extended attribute with namelen=3 and
valuelen=71. This results in an entry size of 80 bytes.
At the start of xfs_attr3_leaf_add_work, the freemap looks like this:
i 0 base 448 size 0 rhs 448 count 46
i 1 base 388 size 132 rhs 448 count 46
i 2 base 2120 size 4 rhs 448 count 46
firstused = 520
where "rhs" is the first byte past the end of the leaf entry array.
This is inconsistent -- the entries array ends at byte 448, but
freemap[1] says there's free space starting at byte 388!
By the end of the function, the freemap is in worse shape:
i 0 base 456 size 0 rhs 456 count 47
i 1 base 388 size 52 rhs 456 count 47
i 2 base 2120 size 4 rhs 456 count 47
firstused = 440
Important note: 388 is not aligned with the entries array element size
of 8 bytes.
Based on the incorrect freemap, the name area starts at byte 440, which
is below the end of the entries array! That's why the assertion
triggers and the filesystem shuts down.
How did we end up here? First, recall from the previous patch that the
freemap array in an xattr leaf block is not intended to be a
comprehensive map of all free space in the leaf block. In other words,
it's perfectly legal to have a leaf block with:
* 376 bytes in use by the entries array
* freemap[0] has [base = 376, size = 8]
* freemap[1] has [base = 388, size = 1500]
* the space between 376 and 388 is free, but the freemap stopped
tracking that some time ago
If we add one xattr, the entries array grows to 384 bytes, and
freemap[0] becomes [base = 384, size = 0]. So far, so good. But if we
add a second xattr, the entries array grows to 392 bytes, and freemap[0]
gets pushed up to [base = 392, size = 0]. This is bad, because
freemap[1] hasn't been updated, and now the entries array and the free
space claim the same space.
The fix here is to adjust all freemap entries so that none of them
collide with the entries array. Note that this fix relies on commit
2a2b5932db6758 ("xfs: fix attr leaf header freemap.size underflow") and
the previous patch that resets zero length freemap entries to have
base = 0.

md/bitmap: fix GPF in write_page caused by resize race
A General Protection Fault occurs in write_page() during array resize:
RIP: 0010:write_page+0x22b/0x3c0 [md_mod]
This is a use-after-free race between bitmap_daemon_work() and
__bitmap_resize(). The daemon iterates over `bitmap-storage.filemap`
without locking, while the resize path frees that storage via
md_bitmap_file_unmap(). `quiesce()` does not stop the md thread,
allowing concurrent access to freed pages.
Fix by holding `mddev-bitmap_info.mutex` during the bitmap update.

netfilter: xt_tcpmss: check remaining length before reading optlen
Quoting reporter:
In net/netfilter/xt_tcpmss.c (lines 53-68), the TCP option parser reads
op[i+1] directly without validating the remaining option length.
If the last byte of the option field is not EOL/NOP (0/1), the code attempts
to index op[i+1]. In the case where i + 1 == optlen, this causes an
out-of-bounds read, accessing memory past the optlen boundary
(either reading beyond the stack buffer _opt or the
following payload).

DESCRIPTION: NLnet Labs Unbound 1.14.0 up to and including version 1.25.0 has a vulnerability that results in heap overflow when encoding multiple NSID and/or DNS Cookie EDNS and/or EDNS Padding options in the reply packet. The relevant options ('nsid', 'answer-cookie', 'pad-responses' (default)) need to be enabled for the vulnerability to be exploited. An adversary who can query Unbound can exploit the vulnerability by attaching multiple NSID and/or DNS Cookie EDNS and/or EDNS Padding options to the query. A flaw in the size calculation of the EDNS field truncates the correct value which allows the encoder to overflow the available space when writing. Those two combined lead to a heap overflow write of Unbound controlled data and eventually a crash. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix to de-duplicate the EDNS options and a fix to prevent truncation of the EDNS field size calculation.

DESCRIPTION: NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.0 has a denial of service vulnerability in the DNSSEC validator that can lead to a crash given malicious upstream replies. When Unbound constructs chase-reply messages for validation, the code uses the wrong counter to calculate write offsets for ADDITIONAL section rrsets. DNAME duplication could increase the ANSWER section count and authority filtering could decrease the AUTHORITY section count and create an uninitialized array slot. Combining these two, the validator later dereferences this uninitialized pointer, causing an immediate process crash. An adversary controlling a DNSSEC-signed domain can trigger this bug with a single query by configuring a DNAME chain with unsigned CNAMEs and a response containing unsigned AUTHORITY records alongside signed ADDITIONAL glue records. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix to use the proper counters to calculate the write offsets.

DESCRIPTION: Issue summary: Parsing a crafted DER-encoded ASN.1 structure with a primitive
element whose content exceeds 2 gigabytes in length may cause a heap buffer
over-read on 64-bit Unix and Unix-like platforms.
Impact summary: The heap buffer over-read may crash the application (Denial of
Service) or to load into the decoded ASN.1 object contents of memory beyond the
end of the input buffer. More typically such ASN.1 elements would instead be
truncated.
An integer truncation in OpenSSL's ASN.1 decoder causes the content length of
an ASN.1 primitive element to be mishandled when it exceeds 2 gigabytes. In the
worst case the truncated length is treated as a request to scan the binary
content for a terminating zero byte, possibly causing OpenSSL to read either
less than or beyond the end of the allocated buffer.
Applications that pass attacker-supplied data to d2i_X509(), d2i_PKCS7(), or
any other d2i_* decoding function are affected. OpenSSL's own command-line
tools are not vulnerable, as data read through the BIO layer is checked before
it reaches the affected code. The issue only affects 64-bit Unix and Unix-like
platforms; 32-bit platforms and 64-bit Windows are not affected.
The FIPS modules in 4.0, 3.6, 3.5, 3.4 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue,
as the affected code is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary.

macvlan: fix error recovery in macvlan_common_newlink()

ip link add invalid% link p2 type macvlan mode source macaddr add 00:00:00:00:00:20
ping -c1 -I p1 1.2.3.4
He also gave a very detailed analysis:
quote valis
The issue is triggered when a new macvlan link is created with
MACVLAN_MODE_SOURCE mode and MACVLAN_MACADDR_ADD (or
MACVLAN_MACADDR_SET) parameter, lower device already has a macvlan
port and register_netdevice() called from macvlan_common_newlink()
fails (e.g. because of the invalid link name).
In this case macvlan_hash_add_source is called from
macvlan_change_sources() / macvlan_common_newlink():
This adds a reference to vlan to the port's vlan_source_hash using
macvlan_source_entry.
vlan is a pointer to the priv data of the link that is being created.
When register_netdevice() fails, the error is returned from
macvlan_newlink() to rtnl_newlink_create():
if (ops-newlink)
err = ops-newlink(dev, ¶ms, extack);
else
err = register_netdevice(dev);
if (err 0) {
free_netdev(dev);
goto out;
}
and free_netdev() is called, causing a kvfree() on the struct
net_device that is still referenced in the source entry attached to
the lower device's macvlan port.
Now all packets sent on the macvlan port with a matching source mac
address will trigger a use-after-free in macvlan_forward_source().
/quote valis
With all that, my fix is to make sure we call macvlan_flush_sources()
regardless of @create value whenever "goto destroy_macvlan_port;"
path is taken.
Many thanks to valis for following up on this issue.

DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: skbuff: preserve shared-frag marker during coalescing
skb_try_coalesce() can attach paged frags from @from to @to. If @from
has SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG set, the resulting @to skb can contain the same
externally-owned or page-cache-backed frags, but the shared-frag marker
is currently lost.
That breaks the invariant relied on by later in-place writers. In
particular, ESP input checks skb_has_shared_frag() before deciding
whether an uncloned nonlinear skb can skip skb_cow_data(). If TCP
receive coalescing has moved shared frags into an unmarked skb, ESP can
see skb_has_shared_frag() as false and decrypt in place over page-cache
backed frags.
Propagate SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG when skb_try_coalesce() transfers paged
frags. The tailroom copy path does not need the marker because it copies
bytes into @to's linear data rather than transferring frag descriptors.

CVEID: CVE-2026-46333
DESCRIPTION: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ptrace: slightly saner 'get_dumpable()' logic
The 'dumpability' of a task is fundamentally about the memory image of
the task - the concept comes from whether it can core dump or not - and
makes no sense when you don't have an associated mm.
And almost all users do in fact use it only for the case where the task
has a mm pointer.
But we have one odd special case: ptrace_may_access() uses 'dumpable' to
check various other things entirely independently of the MM (typically
explicitly using flags like PTRACE_MODE_READ_FSCREDS). Including for
threads that no longer have a VM (and maybe never did, like most kernel
threads).
It's not what this flag was designed for, but it is what it is.
The ptrace code does check that the uid/gid matches, so you do have to
be uid-0 to see kernel thread details, but this means that the
traditional "drop capabilities" model doesn't make any difference for
this all.
Make it all make a *bit* more sense by saying that if you don't have a
MM pointer, we'll use a cached "last dumpability" flag if the thread
ever had a MM (it will be zero for kernel threads since it is never
set), and require a proper CAP_SYS_PTRACE capability to override.

CVEID: CVE-2026-31790
DESCRIPTION: Issue summary: Applications using RSASVE key encapsulation to establish
a secret encryption key can send contents of an uninitialized memory buffer to
a malicious peer.
Impact summary: The uninitialized buffer might contain sensitive data from the
previous execution of the application process which leads to sensitive data
leakage to an attacker.
RSA_public_encrypt() returns the number of bytes written on success and -1
on error. The affected code tests only whether the return value is non-zero.
As a result, if RSA encryption fails, encapsulation can still return success to
the caller, set the output lengths, and leave the caller to use the contents of
the ciphertext buffer as if a valid KEM ciphertext had been produced.
If applications use EVP_PKEY_encapsulate() with RSA/RSASVE on an
attacker-supplied invalid RSA public key without first validating that key,
then this may cause stale or uninitialized contents of the caller-provided
ciphertext buffer to be disclosed to the attacker in place of the KEM
ciphertext.
As a workaround calling EVP_PKEY_public_check() or
EVP_PKEY_public_check_quick() before EVP_PKEY_encapsulate() will mitigate
the issue.
