PH72289: REBIND PACKAGES ON THE TABLE WHEN INDEX COLUMN LIST IS CHANGED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When Object Compare adds a new index on the table, REBIND is
  generated for all packages that depend on the table. But when an
  existing index is changed, REBIND is generated only for packages
  that depend on the index. If a column list for the index is
  changed, Object Compare should generate REBIND for all packages
  on the table in case the new column list makes the index
  eligible for use by packages that did not depend on the index
  before.

  When Object Compare is used to create a new index, REBIND
  commands are generated for all packages that depend on the table
  so that the new index can be used by those packages. But when an
  existing index is changed, REBIND is generated for only those
  packages that depend on the index. If the index column list is
  changed, Object Compare should generate REBIND commands just as
  it does for a new index, because a new column list can make the
  index eligible for use by packages that did not depend on the
  index before.
  

Problem conclusion
