Abstract

The following updates are available in release 3.1.10 of Planning Analytics as a Service.

What's new in books and reporting
The following new and changed features in books and reporting are available in Planning Analytics as a Service 3.1.10.

Continue working while PDF bursts run in the background

You can now generate PDF bursts without interrupting your work. Burst processing is handled directly by Planning Analytics Workspace, so you can continue using the application while burst output is generated in the background.

Previously, PDF bursting was processed by your web browser, which blocked you from working during the export. With this improvement, burst processing runs in the Planning Analytics Workspace service and delivers higher-quality PDF output that more accurately represents your books. The process to start a PDF burst remains unchanged.

Up to 4 bursts can run concurrently across all users. Additional bursts are queued until a slot becomes available.

Non-administrator users can upload files to their home directory with the Action Button

Non-administrator users can upload files to their home directory by using the Action Button's Allow file upload option.

When you enable the Allow file upload option in the Action Button configuration and click the Action Button, the File manager opens. Use the File manager to upload and download files and to select a file, including the file path, to pass to a string parameter of the TI process. As a non-administrator user, you can upload, download, and select files only in your home directory or session directory.

This feature requires TM1 Server 12.6 or later.

Apply themes to Workspace books

Book authors can apply predefined themes to Workspace books to quickly change the appearance of books and widgets.

You can now apply predefined themes to Workspace books. Book themes provide a consistent visual appearance for books and the widgets that they contain.

When a book is in edit mode, book authors can select a theme by clicking the Theme icon and selecting a theme from the Theme drop-down list. The selected theme is applied to the book and its widgets. New Workspace books use the default system theme. Existing books also use the default system theme until a different theme is selected.

Administrators can create and manage book themes in the Excel and Customizations tile on Planning Analytics Administration.

Book themes are distinct from the existing Workspace themes feature. Use the existing Workspace themes feature to customize the appearance of Workspace user interface elements outside of books.

What's new in plans and applications
The following new and changed features in plans and applications are available in Planning Analytics as a Service 3.1.10.

Control member access in Data Accountability tasks with single member set synchronization

Selection behavior in Data Accountability tasks has changed: when a contributor, approver, or viewer selects a member from the Data Accountability hierarchy, a single member set is now synchronized to the assets in the task, limiting the visible hierarchy to only the selected member.

Previously, selecting a member from the Data Accountability hierarchy synchronized that member to the books, views, and Websheets in the task. Now, the selected member is also synchronized as a single member set to the hierarchy in those assets. When a user opens the hierarchy drop-down to select another member, the hierarchy shows only the selected member. This change applies to all existing and new plans that use Data Accountability tasks, for both contributors and approvers.

Users can still access other members in the hierarchy by opening the set editor in a view, book, or Websheet, provided they have the appropriate permissions.

Import and export assignments in data accountability tasks

Plan owners can now import and export contributor, approver, and viewer assignments for data accountability tasks.

The Import icon and Export icon are available in the Assignments section in a data accountability task. Click the Import icon to populate assignments from a CSV file. Click the Export icon to download assignments as a CSV file. The Data Accountability flag must be enabled to import and export assignments.

The import file must contain the following required columns: Member, Assignment, and Action. You can leave the Assignment value blank when a contributor, approver, or viewer assignment is not required.

Toast notifications provide status information for import and export operations.

Associate workflow processes when reverting task or member submissions

Plan owners can now associate a workflow process with task or member submission reverts in both regular tasks and data accountability tasks.

To use this capability, update the workflow processes on the database to the latest version. In the Add process for events panel, select Revert submission in the events drop-down list and then select the process to associate with that event.

In regular workflow tasks, the task submission is reverted. In data accountability tasks, the member submission is reverted.

What's new in administration
The following new and changed features in administration are available in Planning Analytics as a Service 3.1.10.

Automatic resizing of Universal Report header columns

Administrators can now configure the AutofitUrHeaderCells Websheet parameter directly from Planning Analytics Administration.

The AutofitUrHeaderCells parameter is now available as a Websheet configuration setting in Planning Analytics Administration. This enhancement makes the parameter easier to discover and configure without manually editing Websheet configuration settings.

  • When AutofitUrHeaderCells is set to true, Universal Report and Static Universal Report columns are automatically resized to fit the length of header elements when the report is rendered.
  • When AutofitUrHeaderCells is set to false, automatic resizing is disabled and existing column widths are retained.

The default value for AutofitUrHeaderCells is true.

Configure Planning Analytics data sources

Administrators can now create and manage data source connections directly from Planning Analytics Administrationwithout configuring ODBC drivers or deploying the ODBC Data Connector.

A new Connect data source tile is available on the Planning Analytics Administration home page. Users with the Administrator role can use this tile to define named data source connections that are then available as data source types in the TurboIntegrator process editor and guided import experiences.

  • To create a data source, click Add on the Connect data source tile, select a data source type, and provide the connection details and credentials.
  • You can test a data source connection before saving it to validate the connection details and credentials.
  • Once a data source is defined, it is available as a named connection in the TurboIntegrator process editor (modeling workbench) and the guided import experience (workbench and books).
  • For data sources that require a SQL query, the query is specified in the TurboIntegrator process or guided import, not in the data source configuration.
This feature requires TM1 12.6.1 or higher and is available on Planning Analytics Advanced Certified Containers and Planning Analytics as a Service only. Secure tunnel support for on-premises data sources is not yet available.

What's new in Planning Analytics Agent
The following new and changed features in Planning Analytics Agent are available in Planning Analytics as a Service 3.1.10.

AI features now use GPT-OSS-120B

All AI features in Planning Analytics now use the GPT-OSS-120B model to generate insights, analyses, and summaries.

Previously, these AI features used the Granite-4h-small model. This update applies to AI-enabled capabilities for Planning Analytics Agent, including chart insights, forecast summaries, cell explainability, drive explorer, outlier analysis, impact analysis, crosstab reports, and variance analysis.

The updated model provides the same AI-assisted functions with more detailed and informative responses in many scenarios.
