For IBM i 7.6, a new cluster version 12 enables cluster operations to support MFA enabled user profiles:
- When the requesting user profile uses MFA, the MFA attributes for each enabled authentication method must match the corresponding attribute on the originating node for all cluster nodes
- A cluster configuration change is required to use digital certificates. For each node, the network attribute ALWADDCLU must be set to *RQSAUT and each node must have a certificate that is trusted on all nodes
- An initial authentication must be established between cluster nodes the first time they are started at cluster version 12
