Abstract
Did you know that IBM Storage Scale (a.k.a. GPFS) file systems with petabytes of data or billions of files can be returned to service very rapidly, even after a major corruption that renders the entire file system and all snapshots unavailable? Scale Out Backup and Restore (SOBAR) combines backups and archives taken to IBM Storage Protect with native Storage Scale utilities to allow those huge file systems to be rebuilt far faster than can be done using traditional recovery.
This session discusses how Storage Protect can provide backup and Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) services to Storage Scale, and how those can be combined with native utilities to provide SOBAR recoveries. Building SOBAR capabilities using other technologies will also be presented.
Please join the IBM Advanced Technology Group in investigating how these capabilities help protect your critical data assets.
