Abstract

The GROUP_PTF_CURRENCY_LOCAL table function compares the PTF Groups installed on the partition by using an integrated file system (IFS) file that contains a version of the available service levels from the IBM® Preventive Service Planning website.

For an IBM i that cannot connect to the internet to directly access the XML feed, use some other device to manually download the file from this URL: https://public.dhe.ibm.com/services/us/igsc/PSP/xmldoc.xml

The local copy of the XML feed needs to be copied to the IBM i and located within the IFS. Once established in the IFS, GROUP_PTF_CURRENCY_LOCAL can be queried. The local copy of the XML feed will be compared to the PTF Group detail found on the current IBM i.
