PH71408: OBJECT COMPARE FAILS TO REBIND PACKAGES WHEN ALTERING TABLE SPACE PAGENUM FROM ABSOLUTE TO RELATIVE WHEN REBIND=M

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Client is converting multiple tables from PBR to PBR2 by
  altering the PAGENUM from ABSOLUTE to RELATIVE using the Admin
  Tool ALTER option. The Admin Tool setting has Run REBIND: M
  (Mandatory, All Relevant, None). After running the ALTER PAGENUM
  change followed by a REORG to materialize the changes, DB2
  automatically adds DSSIZE to the indexes, which did not exist in
  the PBR tablespace. As a result, the associated packages are
  getting invalidated. Since the packages are getting invalidated
  due to this conversion, Client believes rebind statements should
  be generated automatically for REORGM ='Y', which currently is
  not happening.

  When processing table space alters, such as SEGSIZE changes or
  changing PAGENUM from ABSOLUTE to RELATIVE, Object Compare fails
  to rebind mandatory packages when REBIND=M. This behavior can
  lead to invalid packages.

• The problem has been fixed.
