Security Bulletin
Summary
There are vulnerabilities in Open-Source Software (OSS) components used by IBM Controller. Additionally, IBM Controller is vulnerable to cross site scripting (XSS) and server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerabilities. Please refer to the table in the Related Information section for vulnerability impact. This Security Bulletin relates only to the direct usage of third-party components by IBM Controller and not any nested dependencies within the product.
Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2026-21945
DESCRIPTION: Java SE is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an easily exploitable vulnerability issue that allows an remote attacker to cause a hang or repeatable crash of the application.

CVEID: CVE-2026-21925
DESCRIPTION: Java SE could allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to bypass security controls and perform unauthorized update, insert, delete, or read operations on accessible data, caused by an difficult to exploit vulnerability.
CVSS Source: secalert_us@oracle.com
CVSS Base score: 4.8
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-1188
DESCRIPTION: In the Eclipse OMR port library component since release 0.2.0, an API function to return the textual names of all supported processor features was not accounting for the separator inserted between processor features. If the output buffer supplied to this function was incorrectly sized, failing to account for the separator when determining when a write to the buffer was safe could lead to a buffer overflow. This issue is fixed in Eclipse OMR version 0.8.0.
CWE: CWE-131: Incorrect Calculation of Buffer Size
CVSS Source: NVD
CVSS Base score: 9.8
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)
CVEID: CVE-2021-22096
DESCRIPTION: In Spring Framework versions 5.3.0 - 5.3.10, 5.2.0 - 5.2.17, and older unsupported versions, it is possible for a user to provide malicious input to cause the insertion of additional log entries.
CWE: CWE-117: Improper Output Neutralization for Logs
CVSS Source: IBM X-Force
CVSS Base score: 5.3
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N)
CVEID: CVE-2026-22732
DESCRIPTION: When applications specify HTTP response headers for servlet applications using Spring Security, there is the possibility that the HTTP Headers will not be written.
This issue affects Spring Security Servlet applications using lazy (default) writing of HTTP Headers:
: from 5.7.0 through 5.7.21, from 5.8.0 through 5.8.23, from 6.3.0 through 6.3.14, from 6.4.0 through 6.4.14, from 6.5.0 through 6.5.8, from 7.0.0 through 7.0.3.
CWE: CWE-425: Direct Request ('Forced Browsing')

CVEID: CVE-2026-5065
DESCRIPTION: IBM Controller contains hard-coded credentials, such as a password or cryptographic key, which it uses for its own inbound authentication, outbound communication to external components, or encryption of internal data.
CWE: CWE-798: Use of Hard-coded Credentials
CVSS Source: IBM
CVSS Base score: 8.8
CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)

Disclaimer
According to the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) is an "industry open standard designed to convey vulnerability severity and help to determine urgency and priority of response." IBM PROVIDES THE CVSS SCORES ""AS IS"" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. CUSTOMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSESSING THE IMPACT OF ANY ACTUAL OR POTENTIAL SECURITY VULNERABILITY. In addition to other efforts to address potential vulnerabilities, IBM periodically updates the record of components contained in our product offerings. As part of that effort, if IBM identifies previously unidentified packages in a product/service inventory, we address relevant vulnerabilities regardless of CVE date. Inclusion of an older CVEID does not demonstrate that the referenced product has been used by IBM since that date, nor that IBM was aware of a vulnerability as of that date. We are making clients aware of relevant vulnerabilities as we become aware of them. "Affected Products and Versions" referenced in IBM Security Bulletins are intended to be only products and versions that are supported by IBM and have not passed their end-of-support or warranty date. Thus, failure to reference unsupported or extended-support products and versions in this Security Bulletin does not constitute a determination by IBM that they are unaffected by the vulnerability. Reference to one or more unsupported versions in this Security Bulletin shall not create an obligation for IBM to provide fixes for any unsupported or extended-support products or versions.
