Installing one of the Python Ecosystem wheels gives: ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement <package-name>

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempting to install specific packages from the Python Ecosystem (PyEco) wheels, the following error is displayed:

$ pip install --prefer-binary <package-name> --extra-index-url=https://wheels.developerfirst.ibm.com/ppc64le/linux
Looking in indexes: https://pypi.org/simple, https://wheels.developerfirst.ibm.com/ppc64le/linux
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement <package-name> (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for <package-name>
