IBM Security Guardium - What log should you check when diangosing a pushed patch problem

How To

Summary

What logs should you check when the patch is failing to SCP to the managed unit

Objective

So when pushing a patch from the Guardium Central Manager to a managed unit(for example p9997), you may want to check either the scplog.log or the log file guard_filetransfer_log.  This would be incorrect, the log you need to review is the scp_fromlog.log, which is located in the directory "/var/IBM/Guardium/log" or in the fileserver path "opt-ibm-guardium-log".

This will provide you information why the patch being sent from the Guardium Central Manager is failing.

It will also give you the exact command that is being used.
