Error description

• The IBM MQ Managed File Transfer (MFT) component is currently
  designed to be run with JRE 8.
  
  On distributed platforms, MFT uses the Java Runtime Environment
  (JRE) shipped with the product. For MQ 9.3 LTS, this is a Java 8
  JRE.
  
  On z/OS, MFT uses the system JRE. Currently, this has to be a
  Java 8 JRE. At the time of writing, the Java 8 JRE is due to go
  out of support at the end of September 2026. However, MQ 9.3 LTS
  will still be supported after that time, which means that
  customers will not be able to use MFT on z/OS from October 2026
  onwards unless they have extended support for the JRE.
  
  This APAR is being raised to modify the MFT component that
  operates on z/OS code to allow it to run with IBM Semeru Java
  Runtime 21.

  Java methods that have been deprecated in Java 21.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IBM MQ Managed File Transfer (MFT) component on z/OS has
  been updated to call Java methods that are not deprecated in IBM
  Semeru Java Runtime 21. As the changes are all internal, users
  on distributed platforms and z/OS should not see any change in
  behaviour. However, these changes ensure that users of MQ 9.3
  MFT component for z/OS will be able to continue using the
  product with IBM Semeru Java Runtime 21 after Java 8 has gone
  out of support in October 2026.
