How to uninstall OpenLDAP (CP4SLDAP) on IBM Cloud Pak for Security (CP4S) v1.11.x to resolve authentication issues such as intermittent first-login failures.

Environment

IBM Cloud Pak for Security v1.11.x

Steps

Step 1: Load serviceability actions for CP4S

Run the following command to load the required CP4S serviceability toolkit:

cpctl load --dev

Step 2: Uninstall OpenLDAP (CP4SLDAP)

Run the following command to remove the deprecated OpenLDAP configuration:

cpctl tools deploy_openldap --operation=uninstall --token=$(oc whoami -t)

Result

After completing the above steps, the deprecated CP4SLDAP configuration is removed, resolving authentication inconsistencies such as the “first login attempt fails, second attempt succeeds” issue across browsers and sessions.
