Known issues fixed

This fix addresses the following Persona-based UI known issues.

Following are the release highlights:

  • Persona-based UI enhancements​

    • User management
      • ​Enables authorized administrators to manage application users, which includes creating, viewing, updating, enabling/disabling, and archiving/reactivating users.

    • Role management
      • ​​Enables authorized administrators to manage user roles, which includes creating, viewing, and updating roles.

    • Access control group management
      • Enable authorized administrators to manage ACGs, which includes creating, viewing, and updating ACGs.
      • Additionally, enables authorized administrators to manage Object-to-ACG mapping.

    • Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based search
  • Request For Enhancement (RFE) list
    • MDMCE-I-192, MDMCE-I-403
      • Enable hiding or removing a user from the application.
    • MDMCE-I-456: Add a Cancel Search button in the Persona-based UI Search Page.
      • Empowers users to interrupt searches, improve user experience, reduce system load, and increase overall operational efficiency — especially in large, high-volume product environments.
    • MDMCE-I-463: Add Angular preview script support to the custom Angular component at the category level.
      • Users can develop custom Angular-based components for categories and connect their own custom APIs or product APIs to address specific business requirements out of the box.

    • MDMCE-I-471: Display mandatory versus optional attributes clearly in the collaboration area grid view.
      • Reduce workflow rejections, reassignments, and cycle time by indicating the minimum data required to be entered by data stewards.
    • MDMCE-I-481: Allow ImageURL attribute type for the Single item edit Header product image.
      • ​Enable dynamic product image rendering rather than relying only on locally uploaded images, thus eliminating duplicate images and supporting enterprise digital transformation.

  • Postinstallation instructions

    • You need to import the latest mdmce-env.zip, vendorportal.zip, and dammodel.zip files to get the latest artifacts.
    • If you run the configureEnv.sh script with no overwrite option, the existing mdmce-roles.json file gets retained and needs manual merge. But if you run the configureEnv.sh script with an overwrite option,
      • A backup of the existing mdmce-roles.json file gets created.
      • The new mdmce-roles.json file gets created from its default file.
    • Entries of the Completeness Lookup Table need to be saved after the mdmce-env.zip file import.
    • The mongodb_username and mongodb_password properties in the env_settings.ini file are used for both Digital Assets Management and Machine learning.
    • You need to re-run the SDP scripts for the respective catalogs. For more information, see Configuring SDP for a catalog.
    • For an existing Angular customization, you need to migrate the data from the JSON files to the system-based Lookup tables. For more information, see Using custom Angular scripts to add custom component.

  • Modifying the database schema

    Database schema migration is not required. 

  • Uninstallation instructions

    Delete the $TOP folder and reinstall the IBM Product Master 14.0.

Known problems and limitations

The following limitations are only applicable to the Persona-based UI.

  • OpenSearch
    • Dashboard: After an attribute is added to a Spec, it does not appear in the OpenSearch index. 
      Workaround: Either save at least 1 item with the value containing the new attribute, or manually update the values in the OpenSearch index.
  • Translation
    • A few screens, such as the Password screen and Report names on the Dashboard menu, do not display title or button text in the locale-specific language. This translation issue will be resolved in the future release.
  • Microsoft™ Edge and Mozilla Firefox browsers
    • The horizontal scrolling on the grids is not smooth.
  • Lookup table
    • The horizontal scrollbar is not visible when there are no entries, and when there are more than 5 to 7 attributes.
  • Traditional search
    • String length operators only work for String and String enumeration type attributes.
    • The sequence attribute is not supported in a multi-occurrence format.
    • The password is in an encrypted form and hence cannot be searched.
    • You cannot search images, binary files, or thumbnails.
  • Free text search
    • The Like operator is not supported in OpenSearch.
  • Rules engine
    • Rules created with Matches and Does Not Matches operators do not work due to an existing RLIKE operator limitation in OpenSearch.
  • View as table
    • Intermediate delete of occurrences is not supported for all types of attributes in the single-edit page if it has view as table property set. 
  • SAML SSO
    • The score value is not getting updated when the Automated Flag is set as True for the SAML SSO.
