Introduction

This document lists the IBM Passport Advantage eAssembly installation images for Operational Decision Manager 9.6.0.0, and instructions to download and install the images.

Samples and tutorials

You must install the Decision Server Rules Samples and Tutorials feature to run the Decision Server and Decision Center samples.

Disk space requirements

Check that you have enough disk space on your computer to download, unpack, and install the product. You can delete the downloaded files after you unpack them.

To download and unpack Operational Decision Manager Server or Server Express, you need 25 GB of disk space. The full installation requires about 13 GB.

Installing Operational Decision Manager Decision Server Rules and Decision Center

You must download and decompress the installation files for Operational Decision Manager Decision Server Rules and Decision Center. Then, you select the files in IBM Installation Manager, where you install the components and associate them with an application server.

What you need

Operational Decision Manager comprises Decision Server Rules and Decision Center. The main components in Decision Server Rules are Rule Designer and Rule Execution Server, and the primary component in Decision Center is the Business console. You create and develop decision services in Rule Designer and the Business console. You deploy rule applications, or RuleApps, from the decision services to Rule Execution Server. Client applications use Rule Execution Server to make decisions by running the RuleApps.

To complete the installation, you must download and install the different parts depending on your goal:

Downloading and installing

Follow these instructions to download and install the eAssembly repository files:

  1. Use your IBM ID to sign in to IBM Passport Advantage Online.
  2. Select Find by part number in the download finder options.
  3. Use the part numbers listed in this document to search for your files.
  4. Download the files to your computer.
  5. Decompress the files to an empty folder.
    Based on the components you selected during download, you will have multiple installation folders named disk1, disk2 and disk3 after decompression.
  6. Follow the Installing Operational Decision Manager instructions to install the components.

Supporting software

A database and an application server are required to install and deploy Operational Decision Manager. If you don't have them, you can use the following parts to install the required applications.

Note: The WebSphere® Liberty application server is included in the on-premises parts.

Installation folders

Upon decompressing the downloaded files, you will have  installation folders named disk1, disk2 and disk3. The following table shows the location of product files by disk. Refer to this table in locating the files for installation.
