APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The general convention to negate/turn off a compiler option
feature is to prepend the option name with 'no'.  The current
negated form of -mzos-asm-implicit-clobber-reg is
-mzos-no-asm-implicit-clobber-reg , which does not follow this
convention.

This APAR adds the general form
-mno-zos-asm-implicit-clobber-reg while retaining the
-mzos-no-asm-implicit-clobber-reg form for backwards
compatibility.

Local fix

  • Use the -mzos-no-asm-implicit-clobber-reg form of the option.
