Question & Answer
Question
How can a user check if an application is up and running without requiring authentication or login, using a single URL for a health check?
Answer
When a request is made to MREF route (e.g., https://mrefdev.facilities.ifmsdev.mas-suite.com), it internally checks the status of the app server pod (appserver-0). If the pod is up and running, it returns a 200 OK response. If the service is unavailable, it returns a 503 Service Unavailable response.
Since MREF is integrated within the MAS system, this URL should work for their health check, even if authentication methods like SAML or OIDC are enabled. After the health check confirms the app's availability, it will redirect internally to the MAS route to confirm the app's status without requiring further action.
