Can IBM Sterling OMS Order Hub Work Without Internet Access (cdn.jsdelivr.net Dependency)?

Question & Answer

Question

Can IBM Sterling OMS Order Hub work in a fully firewalled (air-gapped) environment without internet access to cdn.jsdelivr.net?

Answer

By design, IBM Sterling OMS Order Hub may rely on external CDN resources to load required JavaScript libraries in the browser. Therefore, internet access is expected for normal application functionality.

Running Order Hub without internet access (for example, in a fully firewalled or air-gapped environment) is not supported out-of-the-box (OOB).

In environments with strict security requirements, customization approaches may be explored, such as downloading the required libraries and hosting them locally by modifying relevant files (for example, index.ejs and import-map.json). While such customization may work in certain environments, it requires code-level changes along with thorough validation. This approach is not officially supported and is not upgrade-safe, meaning it may require rework during future upgrades and may not work consistently across all environments.
