IBM Storage Defender Data Protect: Support for integrations and applications

Integrations and applications are scripts, or plugins which are integrated through the standard IBM Storage Defender Data Protect API. These are add-on capabilities that extend the core Data Protect features to provide integrations into the customers' ecosystem and are optional, separately deployable components.

The following table lists the scripts, and plugins that can be integrated through the standard IBM Storage Defender Data Protect API.

Licensing 

• IBM Storage Defender integrations: Integrations and applications developed by IBM Storage Defender do not require additional licensing. The underlying Data Protect software APIs used by these integrations are already fully licensed and supported.
• Third‑party integrations: Integrations and applications developed by third parties are governed by the respective third party’s licensing terms. These solutions often integrate with, and therefore require, an existing valid license for the third‑party software they are built upon.

Support 

The support responsibility is split between IBM Storage Defender and the individual application owner, depending on who developed the application. The underlying 3rd party developed applications or plugins are owned by the application developer, and identified issues are their responsibility to remedy. IBM Storage Defender support provides reasonable effort engagement for IBM Storage Defender Data Protect integration and applications issues. 

The scope of engagement is: 

• IBM Storage Defender support provides assistance with general installation issues and engages Cohesity as needed to assist with an install problem within the Data Protect cluster.
• IBM Storage Defender support directs clients to engage applications integrated through the Data Protect API for issues specific to the application usage and functionality.
• IBM Storage Defender Support is available to engage with applications integrated through the Data Protect API if necessary (submission of case-specific details are necessary).
• IBM Storage Defender Support is not positioned to own the end-to-end resolution of integration and application issues for third party developed scripts and plugins.
