Application Client specific MustGather information
The following is required troubleshooting information for problems with deploying the many types of application clients supported by WebSphere Application Server.
Required for efficient problem determination
- Identify the type of client that is communicating with WebSphere Application Server:
- ActiveX to EJB Bridge (Windows only)
- Applet client
- launchClient
- Pluggable application client (Windows only)
- Thin application client
- Review the detailed system requirements for your particular application client and operating system.
- Describe the client; for example, what are you trying to do in the client?
- Collect trace information from client startup:
- If the issue is with the ORB, refer to the section Stand Alone Java Client ORB Trace Instructions in the technote
MustGather: Object Request Broker (ORB) for all releases
- If using launchClient also include:
-JVMOptions="-CCtrace=*=all -CCtracefile=trace.txt -CCtraceMode=basic"
-
If using Thin client also include:
-DtraceSettingsFile=TraceSettings.properties
-Djava.util.logging.manager=com.ibm.ws.bootstrap.WsLogManager
-Djava.util.logging.configureByServer=true
Create a trace properties file by copying the <was_install_root>\properties\TraceSettings.properties file to the same directory as your client application Java archive (JAR) file. Update the trace string as needed in the TraceSettings.properites file.
- If the issue is with the ORB, refer to the section Stand Alone Java Client ORB Trace Instructions in the technote
MustGather: Object Request Broker (ORB) for all releases
- Follow instructions to send diagnostic information to IBM support .
