Abstract
Join the Advanced Technology Group for a detailed update on the latest IBM Storage Ceph 9.0 enhancements to Cloud Transition for S3 objects. Ceph cloud transition is a RADOS Gateway (RGW) feature that enables automated, policy-based migration of S3 objects from on-premises Ceph clusters to public cloud providers (like AWS S3 or Glacier) or other S3-compatible storage, such as IBM Deep Archive tape library. The session will place heavy emphasis on live demonstrations, tiering from on-premises to a variety of S3 archive targets both on-premises and in the cloud. In a season, and a year, in which we find ourselves dealing with a global shortage of storage hardware, it is crucial to explore strategies for offloading static information assets, thus making room for the relentless generation of new data.
