Abstract
The watsonx.data integration as a Service (StreamSets) team is deprecating support for Data Collector releases prior to 7.2.0 as of March 20th, 2026.
Description
To ensure the best experience for our customers, we are deprecating support for Data Collector engine versions prior to 7.2.0 in the watsonx.data integration as a Service (StreamSets) product. Starting March 20th, 2026, new environments must be created using version 7.2.x or later. This change ensures that all new customers benefit from the latest features, enhanced security, and improved performance available in current releases.
Existing customers can continue using their current environments, but will not be able to create new environments using older versions as of March 20th, 2026.
Please note that this does NOT impact the use of StreamSets Data Collector in the existing IBM StreamSets Cloud or IBM StreamSets Cartridge products.
Recommended Action
- Export existing flows as a safety precaution
- Create a new environment using Data Collector 7.2.0 or later
- Edit existing flows and jobs to use this new environment
- Verify that flows and jobs are working correctly
- Remove the old environment
For updates and questions, please contact us via our Support Portal.
Support will be removed for these older releases as of May 20th, 2026. At this time, it will no longer be possible to use Data Collector engine versions prior to 7.2.0 with the watsonx.data integration as a Service (StreamSets) product.
