Abstract
Installing bundle 12.0p135 may result in a continuous increase of file‑handling activity, leading to appliance instability.
Affected symptoms include:
- GUI restarts
- Sniffer restarts
- Reaching the operating system’s open‑file limit
This behavior impacts only Guardium 12.1 environments where p135 has been installed.
Content
A GUI restart may occur after installing bundle p135 due to an internal change introduced to improve sniffer correlation for encrypted traffic.
This change unintentionally triggers a file‑handling leak, causing the appliance to eventually reach the open file limit on the OS.
As a result, customers may observe:
- Repeated GUI restarts
- Sniffer restarts
- General instability of the Guardium 12.1 appliance
This issue affects only systems where 12.0p135 is deployed.

Resolution
1- For customers who already installed p135 and experiencing these symptoms:
Install adhoc 12.0p137 (Fix Central ETA 3/10/2026). This adhoc patch contains fix for the above issue.
2- Fix for this issue has been uploaded to Fix Central and is available in the following bundle: 12.0p7135 (see release notes)
