  The optimizer can generate an efficient instruction sequence
  when copying data between alphabetic or alphanumeric data items,
  stopping when the end of the shorter data item is reached or
  when a terminating character is found in the sender. The
  optimizer did not allow a USAGE DISPLAY data item as a loop
  counter in this sequence, but rather than avoiding the sequence,
  the optimizer attempted to generate the sequence and then
  terminated when the unexpected USAGE DISPLAY data item was
  found.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler has been fixed to allow USAGE DISPLAY loop counters
  when optimizing the copying of data between alphabetic or
  alphanumeric data items.
