ClearCase albd startup failing with error code 1069 after a recent albd account password change

Troubleshooting

Problem

After a recent ClearCase ALBD password change is done on Windows AD side, the ALBD startup will fail with error code 1069.
Even after entering the new password in the ALBD services logon credentials, the ALBD startup will fail with the below error:
====
The service did not start due to a logon failure.
====

Symptom

Sometimes the Windows AD password change that is done is not immediately reflected to the host machine.
There might be a sync time prevailing in the specific environment.
During this time, even if the changed password is entered correctly it will fail with the logon error due to authentication issue.

Resolving The Problem

Verify and ensure the following points:

1) Check with the IT team if there is any such know sync time difference prevailing in the setup where this is happening.

2) Try to login to the ClearCase host with the ALBD ID and the new password, so that it will confirm if the password has reflected fine.

3) After the password change sync is confirmed, make sure to enter the new password in the logon tab of the ALBD process and then the process should start without any issues.
