    ****************************************************************
Running HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) stand-alone job with
SENSOR=YES in PROC statement triggers DB Sensor to collect
sensor data. When HDPC processes HISAM database in above
condition, there are incorrect values in following data
elements related to free space in a data set group.
    - DB_BYTES_FREE_SPACE
    - DB_AVG_NUM_FSE
    - DB_NUM_FSE_MIN
    - DB_NUM_FSE_MAX
    - DB_PCT_NUM_NOREUSE_FSE
    - DB_PCT_NUM_FRAGD_FSE
    - DB_BYTES_FREE_SPACE
    - DB_PCT_BYTES_FREE_SPACE

This problem is caused by the calculation of the HISAM free
space size for data elements which did not factor in the VSAM
control information (RDF and CIDF) in control intervals.

This problem occurs when there is more than one logical record
in control intervals and the multiple of the logical record
size is within the range of the size of control intervals and
the size of control intervals minus the VSAM control
information. Also, this problem occurs regardless of HASH
    option in PROC statement.

Problem conclusion

  • HDPC has been modified to fix the error.
