How To
Summary
Supplementary upgrade steps are required during 7.1 SR1 upgrade when LQE rs DW database is using a standalone data warehouse, separate from JTS and other ELM applications.
Objective
LQE upgrade might pause with this message:
Indexing will begin when the data warehouse is at version 74 and its GUID matches the application node ID
Supplementary steps for Interactive Upgrade Guide under Lifecycle Query Engine upgrade script section are required:
Important: Do not run the upgradeWarehouse command from JTS server directly until you have updated the new LQE rs DW connection in conf/jts/teamserver.properties. Full steps are listed in resolution steps section.
- Lifecycle Query Engine relational store (rs) If you are using Lifecycle Query Engine rs, the data warehouse database used by Lifecycle Query Engine is upgraded via the Jazz® Team Server upgrade script by default.
- In case, the data warehouse upgrade has been skipped or failed during the Jazz Team Server upgrade, then upgrade the data warehouse using the repotools-jts upgradeWarehouse command. For information about the repository tools command, see Repository tools command to upgrade data warehouse database schema.
Environment
7.1SR1 is running on a distributed environment and LQE rs DW database is using a standalone data warehouse.
Steps
- Stop JTS and LQE servers
- Backup JTS, LQE and LQE rs databases
- Backup original conf/jts/teamserver.properties file
- Update LQE rs data warehouse database connection details in conf/jts/teamserver.properties file and save new changes
- Run upgradeWarehouse command and JTS works well with default teamserver.properties file name
Verify that the upgradeWarehouse command completes successfully
Rollback the original conf/jts/teamserver.properties file
- Restart JTS/LQE applications to complete the remaining upgrade steps
Additional notes:
In a distributed environment where applications are installed on separate servers, you must be able to access the drive or file system where other applications are installed.
The mounted drive must be configured with read-write-execute privileges for the administrator account.
If using network shares on Windows systems for example, the mount must be in this format: mounted_drive_letter:\server\conf. An absolute path, such as\\computer name\JTS_7.1.0_install_dir\server\conf, will not work.
On UNIX systems for example, the mount must be in this format: mount -t nfs IP Address of the server:/opt/IBM/JazzTeamServer.If mount point is not allowed on your production environment, you can run the same upgradeWarehouse command from JTS server directly after updating the LQE rs data warehouse connection details. This only requires that JTS can connect to LQE rs warehouse database.
