APAR status

Error description

• A CICS Liberty server environment had some application issues
  with web sockets stuck in a write state waiting on remote
  clients to accept more data on the network. Occasionally, the
  Liberty executor thread pool mechanics would end up allowing the
  hangBufferPoolSize to become less than the configured
  coreThreads size. This broke the thread pool controller causing
  the server to hang despite the number of active threads and the
  pool size being well below the configured maxThreads value.

  In rare circumstances the Liberty Thread pool fails to expand
  even though the thread pool is running below the maxThread
  defined within server.xml.  This can cause the application to
  stall / hang dependent on the workload.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated with Liberty APAR PH69006.
