PH69745: ABENDS0C4 WHEN USING LOG EXTRACT WITH OUTDDN SYSPRINT OR SYSOUT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The Log Extract tool terminates with an ABENDS0C4 when all the
  following conditions are fulfilled:
  - The Log Extract tool is invoked via the LOG EXTRACT command
  - One the following condition regarding the output of the LOG
    EXTRACT command applies:
     - OUTDDN SYSPRINT is specified
     - OUTDDN SYSOUT applies (either explicitly specified or by
       default of OUTDDN option) and SYSOUT is allocated to the
       INZTOOLS step
  

Local fix

• unless the DDname of the output dataset matters, specify OUTDDN
  with a DDname different from SYSPRINT and SYSOUT to allow a
  normal completion of the LOG EXTRACT tool. If the DDname of the
  output dataset is mandatory, there is no workaround unless
  OUTDDN SYSOUT is specified and the SYSOUT dataset is to be
  allocated as a SYSOUT dataset (SYSOUT=x). In the latter case,
  removing the DD statement solves the issue.
