Error description

  • The queue-level SMF statistics (record type 115, subtype 216)
are not being generated when queues are configured with
STATQ(QMGR), even though the queue manager has STATQ(ON) and
    SMFSTAT(5) active.

QMGR startup in CSQIERS3 calls CSQICRE2 to recreate all the
objects from their definitions stored on page set 0. If a queue
has been defined with STATQ(QMGR), then the value of STATQ on
    the QMGR object is used.

The problem is that this value in the MGBL hasn't been set yet
when CSQIERS3 is called during QMGR startup. The value not being
set will be interpreted as the QMGR object having STATQ(OFF),
which will get propagated to the queue object.

Local fix

  • As a workaround, setting STATQ(OFF) and back to STATQ(ON) on th
QMGR object after a restart should resolve the problem.

    * may not be generated even though the *
    *                      configuration appears correct.          *
    ****************************************************************
During queue manager restart, the initialisation of queue
attributes does not correctly propagate the STATQ setting from
the queue manager to the individual queues when configured with
STATQ(QMGR). This leads to the STATQ attribute being set to OFF
for queues even though it is set to ON for the queue manager,
and as a result, no SMF statistics are generated for the queues.

Problem conclusion

  • The initialisation has been updated to ensure the queue
manager's STATQ attribute is correctly applied to queues with
STATQ(QMGR) during restart of the queue manager.
