Need help regarding the Upgrade of Ant and Spring versions in MDM

Question

The Customer is using MDM 12.0.0.1 and would like to upgrade Ant and Spring framework due to compliance issue.

  1. Apache Ant 1 (Linux) 1.7.1
    /opt/IBM/MDM/linux/lib/ant.jar
    /opt/IBM/MDM/mds/lib/ant.jar
    /opt/IBM/MDM/MessageBrokerSuite/ant/lib/ant.jar
    /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/MDMNode01/installedApps/Cell01/MDM-native-E001.ear/native.war/lib/ant.jar

 

  1. Spring Framework 5.1 (Linux) 5.1.5.RELEASE
    /opt/IBM/MDM2/PasswordVault/spring-core.jar


Is there any way to meet the Customer's requirement of Apache Ant version greater than 1.9 And Spring Framework greater than 6.0?

Answer

1) Apache Ant 1 (Linux) 1.7.1 Paths below. Those are only used for MDM SE. If client is using MDM AE, they can back up and then remove the Ant 1.7.1.

2. Spring Framework 5.1 (Linux) 5.1.5.RELEASE. If client don't use the passwordvault feature, they can back up and remove this Spring jar.

/opt/IBM/MDM2/PasswordVault/spring-core.jar

+ For Spring framework, we can not move up to Spring 6 that using JDK 17 due to WAS limitation that can only support JDK 8.

+ For Ant upgrade, we can not handle this work as support case. If will require whole product change/test and maybe treated as feature enhancement.
