Abstract
In Fix Pack 7.1.0.37, the method used to retrieve events in Omnibus Event Reader was changed to IDUC, replacing the Serial-based SQL Select statements. However, this change to IDUC, may adversely affect some setups.
Content
When Get updated events is not selected for an Omnibus Event Reader, the Reader reads inserted events only - not updated events. With Fix Pack 7.1.0.37 a change was made to use IDUC for these Insert-Only readers, instead of relying on Serial based Select statements. This change was introduced as part of DT442123.
However, the switch to IDUC, may adversely affect some setups, as follows:
- DT457574: ReturnEvent policies fail when triggered from Insert Only IDUC Event Readers
If an Insert-Only Event Reader triggers a policy with the ReturnEvent function, the policy will fail.
Remediation:
A hot fix for DT457574 is available by contacting IBM Support.
A permanent fix will also be included in the next Fix Pack, 7.1.0-TIV-NCI-FP0038. - DT457304: NoRouteToHostException for Insert-Only Readers, which use IDUC starting at Fix Pack 7.1.0.37
IDUC Connections can use a different hostname to that used for the Omnibus Data Source
Remediation:
Apply the workaround as documented in Known Issue DT457304.
Alternatively, you can contact IBM Support for fix, which provides an option to revert the event reader from IDUC, to the previous SQL based method.
This option will also be included in Fix Pack, 7.1.0-TIV-NCI-FP0038.
Note:
With the switch to IDUC, Omnibus Events are required to have the FirstOccurrence field set.
