Notes:
Fix Central is the IBM recommended site for retrieving fixes for most products. Fix Central enables customers to search, select, and download appropriate fixes for their situation. IBM Copy Services Manager 6.3.x fixes are available only from Fix Central. What is Fix Central (FC)?
This release contains all fixes in previous releases up to the CSM 6.3.15 release.
Notable Issues fixed in the 6.3.16.0 release are the following:
| Abstract | Description |
| Defect 89778 | Affected Domain: Customers running 3 site DS8000 replication using a Multi-Target Metro Mirror Global Mirror session running the session in a cascaded mode. Customers running in multi-target mode are not affected. Customers running the older Metro Global Mirror cascaded session types are not affected either. Description: An issue was found when running any of the 3 site multi-target session types in cascaded mode, where if the Metro Mirror pairs are suspended, the session does not provide the Start command to perform an incremental re-synchronization between the source and the third site in the event that the middle site is not accessible. It is highly recommended that you move to the 6.3.16 release if using the Multi-target sessions in cascaded mode. |
| Defect 89621 | Affected Domain: Customers running IBM Copy Services Manager on a DS8000 HMC, attempting to issue an external script from a Scheduled Task. Description: An issue was found where the SSH port from the HMC, may not be automatically opened when creating the connections for an External Server which will be used by one or more Scheduled Tasks to issue and external script. |
| Defect 89598 | Affected Domain: Customers managing DS8000 Safeguarded Copy with IBM Copy Services Manager who have the Expire Backup on Auto Roll option set. Description: A rare timing window was hit, where upon removing a copy set from the Safeguarded Copy session, the Expire Backup on Auto Roll setting led the session to incorrectly expire backups across all volumes in the session. The fix for this issue will ensure that the remove copy set will only remove backups for the removed volumes. NOTE: It is highly recommended that you use the Remove Copy Set with the keep on hardware option when removing copy sets from an "active" Safeguarded Copy session. This will preserve the backups on those volumes as they may be necessary for volumes that remain in the session. Volumes can be imported into a separate Safeguarded Copy session and then safely removed once the retention for those volumes has passed. |
| Defect 89558 | Affected Domain: Customers managing DS8000 Global Mirror with IBM Copy Services Manager running 6.3.15. Description: A change was made in the 6.3.15 release may lead to an internal error when attempting to issue a Start to a Global Mirror session after the session was Suspended, preventing the session from getting back to a Prepared state. The issue does not affect the ResumeGM command. Workaround: Customers experiencing the issue can work around the problem by manually changing the consistency group number used for the Global Mirror role pair. |
| Defect 89490 | Affected Domain: Customers using the REST API to update certificates for the connection to z/OS systems via IP. Description: An issue was introduced in the move to Java 21 which causes the POST /zoscert call to fail. This release should fix that issue and allow customers to automate the z/OS certificate replacement again. |
| Defect 89176 | Affected Domain: Customers managing Snapshots for FlashSystems or SVC with IBM Copy Services Manager. Description: A timing window may occur causing the Snapshot session to get out of sync with the Snapshots available on the hardware. This lead to Snapshots being removed from session but then rediscovered on the next refresh or Snapshot creation. |

Upgrades
This refresh pack is a full version of IBM Copy Services Manager. The refresh pack media does not include the enablement files. If installing without the enablement files, the install will be done with an Evaluation license agreement and the enablement files will need to be applied later for full functionality of the product.

CLI ONLY Installations
The following images are available to install a Remote version of the IBM Copy Services Manager CLI. Download the package pertaining the platform you wish to install the CLI on, NOT the platform that the IBM Copy Services Manager is running on.
NOTE: The installer now allows you to install only the CLI for Distributed platforms. The archive images for the CLI will no longer be available for Distributed servers. Launch the CSM installer and choose the CLI only option to install the CLI.
