Compatibility Information: Version 8.2 Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server

Abstract

This document includes information regarding IBM Storage Protect™ for Mail: Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2 compatibility with earlier releases.

Content

  • Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2.0 is compatible with IBM Storage Protect™ API 8.2.x and IBM Storage Protect™ Backup-Archive Client 8.2.x.
  • The following application levels are not supported with Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.1.x:
    • IBM Storage Protect™ API 8.2.x
    • IBM Storage Protect™ Backup-Archive Client 8.2.x
  • Existing backups created using previous versions of IBM Storage Protect™ for Mail: Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server can be restored using Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2.x within the constraints of the platforms and applications supported by the 8.2 release.
  • New backups created with Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2.x cannot be restored using previous versions of Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2.x can be used with:
    • IBM Storage Protect™ Snapshot 8.2.x.


If you are using this application release, you can not upgrade to SP for Mail 8.2: Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.2. You may continue to use SP for Mail 8.1: Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server 8.1.x with this application release for the Support Lifecycle of the SP for Mail 8.1 release.
