Compatibility Information: Version 8.2 IBM Storage Protect™ for Enterprise Resource Planning

Abstract

This document includes information regarding IBM Storage Protect™ for Enterprise Resource Planning v8.2 compatibility with earlier versions and releases.

Content

  • Existing backups created using previous versions of Storage Protect for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) can be restored using Storage Protect for ERP 8.2 within the constraints of the platforms and applications supported by the 8.2 release.


 

  • New backups created with Storage Protect for ERP 8.2 cannot be restored using previous versions of Storage Protect for ERP.


 

  • The following operating systems supported with Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 are no longer supported with the 8.1 release.
    • AIX 6.1
    • Solaris 10
    • HP-UX 11i
    • Windows 2008

If you are using one of these operating systems, you can not upgrade to Storage Protect for ERP 8.2. You may continue to use Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 on these platforms for the Support Lifecycle of the Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 release.

  • The following applications supported with Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 are no longer supported with the 8.2 release:
    • 64-bit DB2 Enterprise Server Edition V9.7
    • SAP BR*Tools 7.10
    • SAP BR*Tools 7.20

If you are using these application releases, you can not upgrade to Storage Protect for ERP 8.2. You may continue to use Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 on these platforms for the Support Lifecycle of the Storage Protect for ERP 7.1 release.

Tip: Before you install Storage Protect for ERP you must uninstall any previous version of Storage Protect for ERP before installing a new or updated version.

If you are installing a fix pack or interim fix version, do not remove the license enablement file from the previous version. Once the previous levels are uninstalled, you may install the newer levels.
