Abstract

IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact 7.1.1.0 Interim Fix 1 addresses security vulnerabilities identified since the initial release of version 7.1.1.0.

Download Description

Before installing 7.1.1.0 Interim Fix 1, review the defects, prerequisites, and installation steps outlined in the 7.1.1.0-TIV-NCI-IF0001 README file.
This interim fix addresses the following defects:

  • DT449463: UPGRADE COMMONS-FILEUPLOAD IN IMPACT 711
  • DT451938: UPGRADE ACTIVEMQ in IMPACT 7.1.1.0 IF1
  • DT455812: JRExec Server fails to start

Prerequisites

  • This Interim Fix is compatible only with Impact version 7.1.1.0.
  • Before applying the fix:
  • Stop the Impact backend server.
  • Stop the Impact GUI server.

  • There is no required installation order; however, the Interim Fix must be applied to both the Impact Server and the GUI Server.

     

Installation Instructions

Installing the Interim Fix
Go to the directory where you extracted the Interim Fix, then run the following command, specifying the Impact home directory:

install_IF.bat|sh <impact_home>

For example:

Linux:

 install_IF.sh /opt/IBM/tivoli/impact

Windows:

 install_IF.bat "C:\Program Files\IBM\tivoli\impact"


Note: For single-server installations, both the Impact and GUI servers are updated automatically in the same execution step.

Note: In Unix environments, verify that the install script has executable permissions before proceeding.

chmod +x install_IF.sh



Verification

Run the versioninfo script:

/opt/IBM/tivoli/impact/bin/versioninfo.sh


If the Interim Fix is installed, the system will display the following version information::

Rolling Back the Interim Fix to the Previous Fix Pack Version
Follow these instructions to uninstall the Interim Fix and revert to the prior Fix Pack version.

Prerequisites

  • Shut down the Impact backend server.
  • Shut down the Impact GUI server.

To uninstall the Interim Fix, run the following command and provide the Impact home directory:

<backup_directory>/install_IF/7.1.1.0_IF0001/uninstall_IF.sh <impact_home>

Important: Use the uninstall_IF script located in the original Interim Fix backup directory.

For example:

Linux:

/opt/IBM/tivoli/impact/backup/install_IF/7.1.1.0_IF0001/uninstall_IF.sh /opt/IBM/tivoli/impact


Windows:

C:\Program Files\IBM\tivoli\impact\backup\install_IF\7.1.1.0_IF0001\uninstall_IF.bat "C:\Program Files\IBM\tivoli\impact"
