Error description
WUI CICS region reports an AEIP abend after the restart of the RLS server. The AEIP abend occurs in the COVA transaction of the CPSM WUI region when a CPSM Web User Interface data repository (EYUWREP) data set is defined for VSAM RLS management and the RLS server is restarted while a WUI user session is active. The user session does not experience any issues during the RLS restart. After the RLS restart, the following details were logged in the EYULOG. 11/25/2025 10:37:53 EYUVS1103W applid Unable to access RLS managed EYUWREP - Abend Code (AFCT). 11/25/2025 10:37:53 EYUVS0999S applid WUI FAILED: ABEND TRAPPED IN EYU9VKEC 11/25/2025 10:37:53 EYUVS0996S applid ABEND AEIP SYSTEM CODE N/A AT OFFSET ???? Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WUI CICS region reports an AEIP abend * * after a restart of the RLS server. * * The AEIP abend occurs in the COVA * * transaction of the CPSM WUI region * * when a CPSM Web User Interface data * * repository (EYUWREP) data set is * * defined for VSAM RLS management, and * * the RLS server is restarted while a WUI * * user session is active. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: The PTFs addressing this APAR should be * * applied to all CPSM WUI regions and the * * regions restarted. * **************************************************************** The CPSM WUI is accessing the EYUWREP data set using RLS. The VSAM RLS server is restarted. Later, the WUI region encounters an AEIP abend in the COVA transaction. Whilst attempting to recover from the RLS server restart the EYU0VVRF module fails to execute an EXEC CICS POP HANDLE API request, receiving an INVREQ response and an AEIP abend.
Problem conclusion
EYU0VVRF has been updated to ensure that COVA transaction should not result in an AEIP abend after RLS restart.
