  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Z Code Optimization Advice          *
  *                 compiling programs with copybooks, and       *
  *                 users analyzing programs compiled with       *
  *                 Enterprise COBOL 6.4 or 6.5. Users of Z      *
  *                 Code Optimization Advice who upgrade to the  *
  *                 IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z 2.8         *
  *                 release should upgrade the z/OS host         *
  *                 component to obtain new function support.    *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: New Function:                           *
  *                      1. Z Code Optimization Advice can now   *
  *                      analyze object modules without          *
  *                      requiring listing files, as long as     *
  *                      those object modules are compiled with  *
  *                      Enterprise COBOL 6.4 or 6.5 with the    *
  *                      SMARTBIN option. ADATA files are still  *
  *                      required for analysis.                  *
  *                      2. Z Code Optimization Advice now       *
  *                      includes aggregate information about    *
  *                      performance issues found in copybooks   *
  *                      in the main report.                     *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the IBM-provided PTF. We recommend     *
  *                 clients using Enterprise COBOL 6.4 and 6.5   *
  *                 compile with the SMARTBIN option, and if     *
  *                 they have applied compiler PTFs that enable  *
  *                 it, the SMARTBIN(NAMES) suboption.           *
  *                 SMARTBIN(NAMES) causes the compiler to       *
  *                 include information about the names of user  *
  *                 symbols in the additional binary metadata,   *
  *                 which Z Code Optimization Advice makes use   *
  *                 of.                                          *
