IBM Support

Enhanced Subscription Options Available - Statuspage

News

Abstract

Applicable to IBM Apptio, IBM Cloudability, and IBM Targetprocess.

We're improving how you receive maintenance and incident notifications by enabling component-level subscriptions. This enhancement gives you greater control over which notifications you receive, ensuring you only get alerts relevant to the applications and services in the region to which you are subscribed.

What Changed?

Previously, subscribing to our status page meant receiving notifications for all incidents across all regions. With component-level subscriptions, you can now choose to only receive notifications for:

  • A specific region

  • Specific applications and services within a region

This means incident communications will be more focused and relevant for each subscriber.

To take advantage of this change, each subscriber will need to update their subscription preferences. Existing subscribers will remain subscribed to all regions and services until they change their subscription settings. New subscribers will be able to choose their preferences during the initial setup.

Product status subscriptions can be managed on their respective pages:

status.apptio.com

status.cloudability.com

How to Access and Update Your Subscription Settings

NOTE: If you are licensed to multiple products, this process should be completed for each respective Statuspage, i.e. status.apptio.com, status.cloudability.com, and/or status.targetprocess.com.

There are two ways to access your subscription management page:

Option 1: Through a previous Notification

  • Open any incident notification or subscription confirmation you've received

  • Click the "Manage Subscriptions" link at the bottom of the message

  • You'll be taken directly to your subscription management page

Option 2: On our Statuspage website

  • Go to our Statuspage and click the “Subscribe to Updates” button at the top.

  • Select your desired notification method at the top of the pop up, then enter your contact details (email or phone number) and click the “Subscribe Via <method>button.

  • You’ll receive a One-Time Password for login.

  • Go back to our Statuspage and click “Subscribe to Updates” again.

  • Enter your contact details again, along with the OTP code from step 4. Then click “Verify OTP and Subscribe” to proceed.

Managing Your Subscriptions

Once you're on the subscription management page, you'll see a hierarchical list of:

  • Region-Level Component Groups

These represent the geographic regions where our services operate.

  • Service-Level Components

Under each region, you'll see individual applications and services.

To customize your subscriptions:

  • Your subscription will default to all services in all regions being selected. We recommend you begin by clicking the “Select none” link.

  • Check the box next to each application or service under your region.

  • Uncheck the box for any application or service which is not relevant to your operations.

  • Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to confirm your notification preferences.

Understanding Notifications

With component-level subscriptions enabled:

  • You'll only receive incident notifications when the specific components you've subscribed to are affected.

  • If an incident initially affects one component and later expands to affect another component you're subscribed to, you'll receive the most recent update for that incident.

  • All incident emails will include a "Manage Subscriptions" link for easy access to update your preferences.
