MustGather Data Collection Requirements for Instana Frontend/UI Client (Browser)
Monitored environment details:
- Kind of deployment (Self-hosted/SaaS)
- OS (Mac/Windows) and version
- Browser (Firefox/Chrome/Edge/Safari) and version
- List of browser extensions enabled
Additional output & files to collect:
- If instana is self-hosted:
- Collect backend logs/configuration using the self-hosted mustgather
- Include screenshots of the issue in the UI
- Use the browser developer tools to gather additional information. Activate the tool by right clicking on an element in the UI and selecting Inspect
- Gather the contents of the browser Console: Click the Console tab, then right click and save.
- Only if there are network/query performances issues or the page will not load:
- Click on the network tab, reload the page and click on the download icon to save the HAR file and include in the gather.
- If there are errors in the Network tab with individual .js files failing to fetch, try to download the file outside of browser using cURL. Right click on the failing request, click on the Copy menu, then the Copy as cURL submenu. Copy/paste the command to a terminal window with cURL installed and gather the output.
