Error description
Fast Path Advance Tool (FPA), Online Pointer Checker (OPC) and Online Reorganization Expert (OER) when SEGLDIST=YES is specified in the REPORT subcommand and there are compressed segments. The loop can occur when the actual data length is longer than the defined maximum length (due to the compression routine). Another symptom addressed: ABENDS0C4 FPXAVSM0 at offset x'748'. ABEND0C4 S0C4
Local fix
If you specify SEGLDIST=NO in the FPXIN DD, the looping module will not be called and the loop will be avoided. The result of this specification is that the Segment Length Distribution report will not be printed.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS Fast Path Advanced Tool, * * IMS Fast Path Online Tools and Hash Check * * support for IMS HP Image Copy in Fast Path * * Solution Pack Version 2 Release 1 * * (FMID: HAHQ210). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When SEGLDIST=YES is specified for Fast * * Path Advanced Tool (FPA) or Fast Path * * Online Tools (FPO), or * * DEDBPC=(Y,SEGLDIST) is specified for * * Hash Check support for IMS HP Image * * Copy, job may loop if there are * * compressed segments that exceed * * the defined maximum length. * * * * When there is no IOVF data CI following * * an IOVF space map CI, that is, * * the number of IOVF CIs is a multiple of * * 120 plus 1, Online Pointer Checker * * (OPC) abnormally terminates with S0C4. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR * **************************************************************** The following issues have been addressed: 1.The process for collecting data for the Segment Length Distribution Report is incorrect in FPA, FPO, and Hash Check support for IMS HP Image Copy when the actual segment length exceeds the defined maximum length due to the compression routine. 2.The process for analyzing IOVF space map CI in OPC is incorrect when there is no IOVF data CI following an IOVF space map CI.
Problem conclusion
1.FPA, FPO and Hash Check support for IMS HP Image Copy have bee modified to output the Segment Length Distribution Report correctly even when there are compressed segments exceeds the defined maximum length. 2.OPC has been modified to prevent S0C4 when the space map CI is the last CI in the IOVF part.
