Error description

• A NullPointerException occurs during Liberty server startup when
  the cicsts_jdbcDriver element in server.xml is configured
  without an id attribute. The code assumes the presence of the id
  attribute and attempts to access it directly, which leads to the
  exception.
  

Local fix

  A Liberty JVMSERVER is enabled with a cicsts_jdbcDriver or
  cicsts_dataSource element in server.xml.  If one of these
  elements does not contain an id attribute this causes a
  NullPointerException when CICS validates the configuration.
  The NullPointerException occurs in the getElement() method of
  com.ibm.cics.router.wlp.internal.LibertyServerXmlImpl.
  This causes the JVMSERVER to fail to enable.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated so that the validation of the
  cicsts_jdbcDriver or cicsts_dataSource elements does not fail
  with a NullPointerException if they do not contain id
  attributes.
