Abstract

This document provides information about the rebranding of IBM Storage Copy Data Management, and IBM Storage Sentinel products.

Content

Starting with the following versions the IBM Spectrum products are known by the names:

  • Version 2.2.26, IBM Storage Copy Data Management is now known as IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management.
  • Version 1.1.11, IBM Storage Sentinel is now known as IBM Storage Defender Sentinel.


This document provides the following information:
  • A cross-reference between the IBM Storage product name and the IBM Storage Defender product name.
  • Information about the product name branding that you see in various contexts during the change.

IBM Announcement letters

Starting with product announcements for:

  • Version 2.2.26, IBM Storage Copy Data Management is known as IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management.
  • Version 1.1.11, IBM Storage Sentinel is known as IBM Storage Defender Sentinel.

IBM product announcement letters associated with new deliveries use the IBM Storage Defender product name.


 

Software fulfillment over IBM Passport Advantage Online and Media packs

For the product releases: 

  • IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management 2.2.26 and above versions.
  • IBM Storage Defender Sentinel 1.1.11

All product images associated with installable product code are labeled with the IBM Storage Defender product name.

Technotes, readme files, and Release Notes

For the product releases: 

  • IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management 2.2.26 and above versions.
  • IBM Storage Defender Sentinel 1.1.11
The technotes, readme files, and Release Notes continue to use the respective IBM Storage Protect product name.
 

For the product releases: 

  • IBM Storage Copy Data Management 2.2.20 - 2.2.25
  • IBM Storage Sentinel 1.1.4 - 1.1.10
     

The technotes, readme files, and Release Notes use a mixture of product name branding references:

  • Documents applicable to the entire product release cycle reflect the new product names only as the document is updated.
  • Documents associated with a specific installed code level continue to use the respective IBM Spectrum Storage product name.


 

User's guides and other product publications

The product publications use the following names:
  • IBM Spectrum Protect version 8.1
  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1
  • IBM Spectrum Copy Data Management version 2.2
  • IBM Spectrum Sentinel version 1.1
