Error description

  • With the current replication design:
1: FORCERECONCILE=yes is designed to synchronizes the files on
the target replication server with the source replication server

    only.
2: FORCERECONCILE=FULL is designed to do the same synchronizes
in addition to delete any files that do not exist on the
    source replication server.

In case of dissimilar policies between source and target, the
user experience is similar with both the options -
FORCERECONCILE=full and FORCERECONCILE=yes. Hence, in case of
additional data on target as compared to source, the additional
    data will be impacted.

    Note :

    1. This behavior is only seen with dissimilar policies.
    2. If there are similar policies, then there is no impact.
    .

    Platform /Version affected
IBM Storage Protect Server on all supported platform

Local fix

  • If dissimilar policy is enabled and target has longer retention,
usage of forcereconcile=yes should be used after careful
    consideration.
