Problem summary
OpenJ9's GarbageCollectorMXBeans include notification emitters which have names like: java.lang:name=global,type=GarbageCollector java.lang:name=scavenge,type=GarbageCollector Note that the type of collection is included in the "name" property. If an application then registers notification listeners for these beans, the notifications it receives have sources with the following generic ObjectName: java.lang:type=GarbageCollector Note that the name property is not present. This can cause problems because an application may expect the source of the notification to exactly match the ObjectName of the bean it was emitted from.
Problem conclusion
The issue has been addressed in OpenJ9 by the following pull request: https://github.com/eclipse-openj9/openj9/pull/22125 . This APAR will be fixed in the following Releases: .
