Error description
A channel configuration error (specifically, a CLUSRCVR) can cause important cluster cache records to be erroneously replaced. Where the replaced record is for a full repository, the local queue manager can subsequently not be able to communicate with this specific full repository. If a REPOS(NO) variant of a REFRESH CLUSTER command is issued, this can cause messages destined for the lost repository, to fail and be backed out and repeatedly retried, which will continue to fail. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9 * * Release 2 Modification 0, Release 3 * * Modification 0 and Release 4 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a CLUSRCVR channel is recreated on * * a different queue manager with a * * mismatched name, it may silently * * overwrite cluster records. As a result * * of this, communication with the * * original queue manager may break, * * causing message delivery failures and * * REFRESH CLUSTER issues. * **************************************************************** The code responsible for validating CLUSRCVR channel definitions did not detect when a duplicate channel name was created with a mismatched queue manager name. As a result, incorrect cluster cache records could silently overwrite valid ones, leading to broken communication with the intended queue manager, message delivery failures, and REFRESH CLUSTER command issues.
Problem conclusion
The product has been enhanced to determine if a mismatch arises between an existing channel name / queue manager name combination and a newly created CLUSRCVR. When a mismatch is found, a CSQX809I message is output by the channel initiator to alert users that a potential configuration error exists in the cluster configuration. The IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9.2.x, Version 9.3.x and Version 9.4.x. Severity 4 Explanation A CLUSRCVR channel with the same name has been defined by different queue managers. This mismatch in queue manager names indicates a potential cluster configuration error. The channel initiator has detected this mismatch and issued this message to alert the user. System programmer response Check the queue manager configuration. If you intended to replace channel channel-name, check that the commands were issued against the correct queue manager. If the original channel instance was created in error, correct the configuration on qmgr-uuid2. Follow the product documentation to remove the channel from the cluster then recreate the channel. If the original cluster receiver was created in error, recreate it with the correct name. "
