IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to update server configuration files which would allow them to perform unauthorized actions, subsequently leading to a Denial of Service condition. The associated CVE is addressed.

Remediation/Fixes

IBM strongly recommends addressing the vulnerability now by upgrading to iFixes detailed below:

IBM recommends customers on ELM 7.0, 7.0.1 or any version below 7.0.2 to upgrade your products to Maintenance release 7.0.2. Optionally, upgrade to the latest 7.1.0 version and apply below fix.

In addition to installing any of these iFixes, kindly perform the following additional step as mentioned below:
Choose one of the following:

From the UI:
  1. Go to the Advanced Properties section of the admin page for an application,
  2. Find the property "RegistrationHandlerService is open"
  3. Set it to False
  4. Save your changes

As a Manual Update:

  1. Edit the "teamserver.properties" file
  2. Locate the property "com.ibm.team.repository.setup.setup.isRegistrationHandlerServiceOpen"
  3. Set it to False
The above changes are applicable to all applications.
