    This PTF updates the following tools to their latest community
    versions:
    - Perl updated to version 5.43.0
    - Curl updated to version 8.14.1
    - Vim updated to version 9.1.1510
    - GPG updated to version 2.5.8
    - JQ updated to version 1.8.1
    - Git updated to version 2.50.1
    - Less updated to version 678
    
    The following tools remain unchanged:
    - GNU Which at version 2.21
    - Ncurses at version 6.5
    - GNU Make at version 4.4.1
    - Bash at version 5.2.37
    
    This update includes the following fixes and enhancements:
    
    Git Fixes:
    - Timezone Support: Git now correctly respects the `TZ`
    environment variable when formatting timestamps for commits and
    logs.
    - Man Page Viewer: Added support for `zotman` as a man page
    viewer.
    
    Curl Fixes and Features:
    - New Protocol Support: Curl now supports SFTP using `libssh2`,
    allowing file uploads and downloads over SFTP.
    - Security Enhancements: Integration with `libpsl` for more
    accurate cookie and domain validation.
    - File Encoding Support: Curl now honors the `_ENCODE_FILE_NEW`
    environment variable when using `-o` or `-O`, ensuring newly
    created files are tagged with the correct encoding.
    
    General Updates:
    - Increased the minimum build target to:
      - Hardware: z13 (previously z12)
      - z/OS Version: V2R5 (previously V2R4)
    

Problem conclusion

  • IBM is releasing a cumulative update to the IBM Open Enterprise
    Foundation for z/OS 1.1, delivering updated tool versions,
    important fixes, and system compatibility enhancements.
