Preventive Service Planning
Abstract
With APAR PJ46684 applied, a persistent DASD error can cause a stalled module queue that requires an IPL to recover the device. Apply APAR PJ48180 to resolve this issue.
Content
With APAR PJ46684, when a lost interrupt is processed, the CIO lost interrupt facility timeout value is set to zero when the clear subchannel (CSCH) completion routine returns to complete processing. With that value set to 0, CIO lost interrupt facility recovery is disabled. If the original DASD error is persistent, the module queue becomes stalled. Messages that indicate that the module queue is stalled are sent continuously and the only way to restart the module queue and stop the messages is to IPL the z/TPF system. Apply APAR PJ48180 to resolve this issue.
