Abstract
Description
Problem summary:
The mmap data on Windows nodes may not be correctly written back from mmap memory to disk on Windows node running Scale 5.1.9 PTF10. This can occur if the same file is being read or written concurrently in different buffering modes. For example, one application doing buffered writes to a file, while another application is attempting mmap read of the same file. In such a situation, it is possible that the data written through may not be properly flushed to disks.
Users affected:
All users running Scale 5.1.9 PTF10 on Windows nodes with applications that use mmap.
Problem determination:
The mmap data may not be written correctly to disk. There are no other external indications of the problem.
Recommended Action
Recommended action:
Is it not recommended to install Storage Scale 5.1.9 PTF10 on a Windows node. If 5.1.9.10 was already installed on a Windows node, it is recommended to request an efix for APAR IJ55083 or upgrade to a later PTF when available.
