Warnings about 'validating Eclipse installation configuration' during an Installation Manager self-update from a pre-1.10 version to 1.10 and later versions can be ignored

Troubleshooting


Problem

When performing an IBM Installation Manager self-update from a pre-1.10.x version to a 1.10.0, or later version of the Installation Manager, you will see Eclipse installation configuration warning.  This warning may specify issues with the java.io or java.awt packages.  This warning can be ignored and does not affect the Installation Manager operation.

Symptom

During the Installation Manager upgrade, you may see a warning similar to this:

Cause

Eclipse made a change in version 4.8 to add support for importing java.* packages.  Applications built on pre-4.8 Eclipse will see these warnings when updating to 4.8-based (or later) Eclipse applications.

Resolving The Problem

This warning does not change the Installation Manager operation and can be ignored.
